Monaco… birthday escapade 2/3

Monaco is the second smallest country in the world – after Vatican city.  I actually didn’t know that it is counted as country – no offense – its the 31st country in my list .  I have been planning to visit this place but after checking the hotel rates – I changed my mind.  It was a good thing that my friend told me that it is few miles from Nice, France. I decided to stay in Nice and took a 30-minute train ride.

As a gift to myself for my birthday I then planned to visit Cannes, Monaco and Nice.  Marseilles was originally in the list but the schedule was too tight.  Monaco was the second leg in my birthday escapade.

Early morning I took the train – unfortunately there was a strike that day… this is normal in France though.  It was a windy day that day – all my pictures looks like I had a bad hair day 🙂

I was able to visit the Palace du Palais and was able to observe the changing of the guard at 11:55 sharp.  Other interesting places like Monte-Carlo Casino and Cafe de Paris.
